SmartBrace braceboard is environmentally friendly, reconstituted timber panel made exclusively for Tilling Timber, utilising what has been previously regarded as waste material in an ecologically sustainable manner.
This waste material consisting of sawmill residue and forest thinning's, uses synthetic resins to bond fibres. These fibres are rearranged and distributed at random, producing high quality bracing panels that meet E1 formaldehyde emission levels and offers uniform strength, superior performance and indent resistance.
FEATURES
SmartBrace is a new and innovative bracing product manufactured under a 3rd party certified Quality Assurance system complying with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. It is a strong and durable H2 treated engineered wood panel, a true High Performance, medium density fibreboard (HP MDF) complying to AS/NZS 1859.2. Clause 5(g) of this standard defines HP MDF as suitable for dry or humid interior loadbearing conditions.
Compliance tests to AS/NZS 1859.2 were carried out in the laboratory facilities of the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Technology, Sydney. SmartBrace has a uniform density that results in the nails being more easily driven into the sheet, eliminating the need to continually adjust the tension to allow for variations in product density or thickness. It is easy to cut, nail, screw and drill.
SmartBrace is made with a special formulation to withstand the atmospheric conditions and is free from natural irregularities - no knots or splinters.
APPLICATIONS
SmartBrace is designed to resist horizontal racking forces applied to buildings, such as cavity bracing in external wall frames in brick veneer construction, and to resist uplift in braced walled systems. HP MDF has been used as a whole of house sheathing panel on Japanese homes for the last 20 years with proven performance.
